    Assistant AD for Facilities
Pittsburg State University Vice President of Athletics Anthony Crespino announced today (June 10) that Tim Pierce has been hired as Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities.

Pierce returns to campus after previously serving first as a student employee in PSU Athletics from 2011-15 and later as the staff's full time Equipment/Facilities Manager from 2015-2020. He later worked in the PSU Physical Plant from 2020-2024, before venturing into the public sector the past two years.

Pierce steps into the open role previously held by Beau Schultz, who was named the Gorillas' new head softball coach earlier this week.

"I'm excited to be back at Pittsburg State University," Pierce said. "To be a part of the vision and leadership that Anthony (Crespino) has is a tremendous honor. Pitt State is a special place that my family has and always will call home."

Tim graduated with a general studies degree from Pittsburg State in 2015. The Girard native is the son of Gorillas Hall of Fame women's basketball player Sunny (York) Pierce and long-time PSU assistant football coach John Pierce. Tim and his wife, LaRee, live in Carl Junction, Mo. They have a son, Nash, who turned 2 in January.

"I'm incredibly excited to welcome Tim back to Pitt State," Crespino said. "Few people love this university the way Tim does. He's humble, works relentlessly, puts the team above himself, and genuinely cares about doing things the right way. Those are the kinds of people we're committed to bringing back to Pitt State. Tim truly embodies what it means to be 'Once a Gorilla, Always a Gorilla', and I couldn't be more excited to welcome him back home."
