PITTSBURG — The Pitt State baseball team will host MIAA rival Missouri Western in a four-game series beginning Friday (Apr. 13) at Al Ortolani Field. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. (CDT).
The series originally was scheduled for twinbills against the Griffons on Saturday and Sunday, but the competition was pushed up a day due to the threat for rain and severe weather Sunday.
Pitt State comes into the series with a 12-19 overall record and a 10-14 MIAA mark. The Gorillas are tied for eighth place in the conference standings after splitting a doubleheader against Missouri Southern Tuesday (Apr. 10) at Al Ortolani Field.
Western brings a 23-11 overall record and 16-8 MIAA mark into the series. The Griffons are alone in second place in the conference standings after sweeping a pair of games from Emporia State Tuesday.
