Box Score Game Box | Season Statistics

PITTSBURG — The Pitt State baseball team dropped a 10-8 decision to Drury in non-conference action Tuesday (Apr. 25) at Al Ortolani Field.

The loss snapped the Gorillas modest six-game winning streak. Pitt State slipped to 18-24 on the season. Drury improved to 24-15 with the victory.

The Panthers plated eight runs in the first four frames. The Gorillas rallied to trim the margin to 8-7 with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, but Drury limited Pitt State to just one additional run over the final five frames while adding insurance runs themselves in the fifth and ninth innings.

Ryan Ventura went 4-for-5 with two runs scored to pace Pitt State's 11-hit attack. Brad Foss also went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs.

Michael Bigogno and Nick Thimesch collected three hits apiece and combined for five RBIs to lead the Panthers.

Pitt State will return to action Saturday when the Gorillas open a four-game MIAA series at Kirksville, Mo., against Truman. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. (CDT).
