Live Statistics

PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will host Drury University in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. (CST) Tuesday (Mar. 12) at Al Ortolani Field.

The Gorillas are 8-4 on the season, while the visiting Panthers will bring a 6-4 record into the twinbill.

Pitt State took two of three games last weekend from Washburn in MIAA play. The Gorillas and Ichabods traded 5-1 decisions Friday (Mar. 8) before Pitt State wrapped up the series with a 12-3 win over WU.

Drury posted a 1-3 record in three days of action at Evansville, Ind., last weekend (Mar. 8-10). The Panthers, who started the season 5-0, snapped a four-game losing streak with a 6-5 victory over Indianapolis Sunday (Mar. 10).

Through their first 12 games, the Gorillas are batting .324 and averaging 8.9 runs per game. Ian Robinson's .450 batting average (9-for-20) paces the squad. Ryan Bilovesky has a team-leading five home runs and 16 RBIs, while Evan Thomas has scored a team-high 16 runs.

On the mound, the Gorillas sport a 4.56 team ERA. Senior lefthander Matt Stalcup (2-1, 2.70 ERA) has registered 19 strikeouts in 13 1/3 innings of work. Sophomore Jake Stevenson is 1-0 with a team-leading 1.50 ERA in 12 innings. The duo are expected to start against the Panthers Tuesday.
