PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State baseball team's weekend MIAA series with Southwest Baptist Unversity has been altered slightly due to the threat of local rain showers Satuday (Mar. 16) afternoon.
The Gorillas and Bearcats now will play a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. (CDT) Friday at Al Ortolani Field; and the two temas will return to the diamond for a single game Saturday at 1 p.m.
Pitt State enters the weekend action with a 9-5 overall record and a 7-5 mark in MIAA play. The Gorillas, who took two of three games against Washburn last weekend, currently sit in sixth place in the MIAA standings. The Gorillas split a pair of non-conference games against Drury in their most recent action Tuesday (Mar. 12).
SBU is 6-8 overall and 6-6 in MIAA play. The Bearcats dropped a 13-6 decision to Lindenwood Tuesday, before snapping a four-game losing streak with a 12-2 victory over the Lions in the nightcap.
