ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Lindenwood University completed a three-game series sweep of Pittsburg State University with a 2-1 victory Sunday (Apr. 21) at the Lou Brock Sports Complex.

The Lions (19-22, 17-16) broke a 1-1 tie with a go-ahead run in the sixth inning.

The Gorillas (23-19, 19-17 MIAA) got the potential tying run on base in the eighth inning, but Brad Foss was picked off first base to end the threat and Lindenwood retired Pitt State in order in the ninth.

Pitt State will return to action Tuesday (Apr. 23) when the Gorillas host MIAA rival Missouri Southern State University. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. (CDT) at Al Ortolani Field.
