PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will travel to St. Louis, Mo., Tuesday (Apr. 9) to face the University of Missouri-St. Louis in a non-conference doubleheader. The Gorillas originally were scheduled to meet the Tritons Wednesday (Apr. 10) but the games were moved up a day due to the threat of rain.

First pitch is set for 1 p.m. (CDT) at the UMSL Baseball Field.

The Gorillas enter Tuesday's action with a 19-13 overall record. Pitt State posted a 5-1 win over No. 12 ranked Missouri Western State University Sunday (Apr. 7).

The Tritons are 11-13 overall on the season. UMSL dropped two of three games over the weekend to Drury University.

As a team, Pitt State is hitting .335 and averaging 7.3 runs per game. The Gorillas have a 5.13 team ERA. UMSL is batting .264 as a team and scoring 4.0 runs per game. The Tritons have a 3.93 team ERA.

Sophomore righthander George Brandecker (3-1, 2.81 ERA) and senior righthander Eric Hansen (3-1, 4.45 ERA) are expected to take the mound for the Gorillas against the Tritons.
