KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Top-seeded Missouri Western dropped a 4-3 decision to fourth-seeded Missouri Southern in a winner's bracket match-up in the 2013 MIAA Baseball Championships Friday (May 10).

The Griffons now will face seventh-seeded Pittsburg State in the elimination bracket final at 2:30 p.m. (CDT) at Community America Ballpark.

The Gorillas (29-13) advanced to Friday's action with a 3-1 elimination game win over Central Oklahoma Thursday night.

The Griffs (38-9) posted a 9-3 win over UCO earlier Thursday.

Western took two of three regular season meetings against Pitt State Apr. 6-7 in Pittsburg.

The Gorillas are expected to send senior righthander Cody Wren (4-5, 5.40 ERA) to the hill against the Griffons.
