KEARNEY, Neb. -- The Pitt State volleyball team worked through some adversity, and despite a three-set loss (25-16, 25-14, 25-16) to No. 6 Nebraska-Kearney, several players stepped up where their team needed them.
Madi Mosier led the Gorillas with nine kills. She had only one error and hit at a .348 percentage. Taylor Wright, typically a strong defensive player, made a good offensive showing with seven kills. Paula Okrutna ran the offense from the setter position and recorded 23 assists. She also helped the defense with seven digs. Ashlen Schwartz led the team with 17 digs.Â
Blocking, typically a strong part of the Pitt State game, was not as dominant against the nationally-ranked Lopers.Â
Pitt State will take on Fort Hays State in Hays on Saturday (Oct. 25) at 6:30 p.m.
