MARYVILLE, Mo. -- The Gorilla Volleyball team moved to 5-10 on the season and 2-5 in MIAA play with a 3-0 loss to Northwest Missouri on Friday (October 3) evening.
Northwest won by scores of 27-25, 25-21 and 25-21.
The Gorillas hit a .170 attack percentage, while the Bearcats were just under .300 with a .297. Pitt State tallied 39 kills and 20 errors, but allowed 49 kills and only 16 errors. Northwest also won the blocks battle, 9.0 to 6.0.
Madi Mosier and Paula Okrutna led the Gorilla offense with 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Taylor Wright led with nine digs. Ashlen Schwartz and Hayley Hansford each had eight.
Pitt State will take on Missouri Western on Saturday in St. Joseph at 1 p.m., just before the Gorilla football team takes the field against the Griffons.
