ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The Gorilla Volleyball team (5-11, 2-6 MIAA) hit at a high attack percentage, committing only 10 errors in the match, but were not able to overcome a slightly sharper Missouri Western (13-3, 7-1 MIAA) attack, ending in a 3-0 loss (25-17, 25-17, 25-20) for the Gorillas on Saturday afternoon.

Pitt State hit .320 for the match, one of their best attack percentages of the season, but the Griffons tallied 13 more kills to help them to them win. Missouri Western also landed nine service aces in the match, to just two for the Gorillas.

Madi Mosier led the Gorillas with 11 kills. Ary Crittleton was just under double figures with nine. The two combined for 20 of the team's 34 kills in the match. Aimee Wood led the team with nine digs, and setter Hayley Hansford added seven.

Pitt State will return to John Lance Arena next weekend for Homecoming. The team will take on Washburn on Friday at 7 p.m. and Emporia State on Saturday at 6 p.m. The team will welcome back alumni for a tailgate on Saturday afternoon and recognition at the game. On Friday night, PSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee encourages everyone to wear red and bring $1 for Make-A-Wish.
