MARYVILLE, Mo. -- The Pitt State Volleyball team lost a 3-0 match to Northwest Missouri on Friday (Oct. 2) night in Bearcat Arena.
The Bearcats hit at an impressive .430 clip, while the Gorillas hit only .156. Northwest Missouri had no fewer than 16 kills in any set. Pitt State had nine kills in sets one and three and 11 in set two.
Lauren Regier led Pitt State with eight kills. Lana DaSilva added six kills and Shelbey Baker added five. Ashlen Schwartz topped the team in digs with 11. Taylyn Schwartz had 14 assists, and Hayley Hansford, nine.
The Gorillas are now 0-14 on the season. Northwest Missouri improves to 10-3 and 3-0 in the MIAA.
Pitt State travels to St. Joseph, Mo. to take on Missouri Western at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Griffons are 10-4 and 2-1 in the MIAA after a loss to Central Oklahoma tonight.
