EDMOND, Okla. -- The Pitt State Volleyball team lost its final road contest of the 2015 season, 3-0 (25-9, 25-18, 25-13) to Central Oklahoma on Tuesday (November 3) night.
The Gorillas are 1-24 on the season, including a 1-13 mark in MIAA play and 1-10 on the road.
Maggie Highberger led Pitt State with seven kills on the match. Taylor Unke added six, while Lauren Regier and Shelby Baker each recorded four. Taylor Wright led the team with 20 digs. The Gorillas recorded only two blocks, a solo block by Lana DaSilva and a block assist by Regier and Lexi Fulghum.
Pitt State will return to John Lance Arena for its final four matches of the season. The first two matches will take place this weekend, with SBU coming to Pittsburg on Friday at 7 p.m. and Missouri Southern at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Friday the Gorillas will be collecting donations of new or gently used shoes for Samaritans Feet. Each person donating will be entered in a drawing to win a $50 gift card from Jock's Nitch. Saturday the Gorillas will honor seniors Lexi Fulghum, Hayley Hansford and Taylyn Schwartz.
