GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — The Southern Arkansas University baseball team scored in six of seven innings, including a four-run sixth frame, as the Muleriders claimed an 11-1 run-rule victory over Pittsburg State University in day four action of the QuikTrip Division II Classic Sunday (Feb. 8).
The Gorillas wrapped up the four-game classic format tournament with a 2-2 record.
Pitt State was victimized by four errors in the game, allowing SAU to score seven unearned runs. Luke Bordewick knocked in Pitt State's lone run in the sixth inning.
The Gorillas will return to action next Friday (Feb. 13) by facing Northeastern State University in a doubleheader at Tahlequah, Okla. Pitt State and the RiverHawks then will face one another in a twinbill in Pittsburg next Sunday (Feb. 15).
