PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team's non-conference doubleheader against Missouri Southern State University has been moved up a day due to the threat of rain. The Gorillas and Lions now will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday (Mar. 24) at the MSSU Baseball Field.
The Gorillas are 6-15 overall on the season. Pitt State dropped three of four games over the weekend on the road against the University of Nebraska Kearney. The Lions are 18-3 overall and currently in first place in the MIAA standings with a 10-2 league mark. MSSU split a four-game series against Central Missouri in Joplin last weekend.
The Gorillas and Lions orginally were scheduled to face one another in a four-game MIAA series Feb. 20-22, but those games were cancelled due to weather. The two schools then elected to attempt to make up those contests with a pair of non-conference twinbills.
