PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will open a four-game MIAA series against Northwest Missouri State University Friday (Mar. 27). The Gorillas will host the Bearcats in a single game Friday at 4 p.m. (CDT), a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. and a final game Sunday at 1 p.m.

Pitt State enters the series with a 7-16 overall record and a 3-9 mark in MIAA play. The Gorillas split a non-conference doubleheader against Missouri Southern in their last action Tuesday (Mar. 24) at Joplin, Mo. PSU defeated the league-leading and 29th-ranked Lions, 9-7, in game one before dropping a 1-0 decision in game two.

Northwest is 13-13 overall and 9-7 in MIAA play. The Bearcats defeated Quincy University, 4-3, in their last action Wednesday (Mar. 25). Northwest took three of four games from Fort Hays State in MIAA play last weekend.
