TOPEKA -- The Washburn University baseball team completed a four-game series sweep with a 9-0 victory over Pittsburg State University Sunday (Mar. 8).
The Ichabods (14-0, 8-0 MIAA) limited the Gorillas (3-9, 0-4 MIAA) to four hits in the contest. WU broke a scoreless tie with one run in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth to take control.
Nate Arnold went 2-for-4 to lead the Pitt State offense. Matt Standlee (0-3) allowed five runs, four earned, in 4 2/3 innings of work for the Gorillas.
