PITTSBURG -- Andrew Vogelbaugh belted a walk-off grandslam -- his third home run of the day -- to lift the Pittsburg State University baseball team to a 13-3 run-rule victory over the University of Central Oklahoma Thursday (Apr. 16) and give the Gorillas a split of an MIAA doubleheader.
The Bronchos (17-19, 12-14 MIAA) defeated the Gorillas (14-25, 9-17 MIAA) 6-5 in the opening contest of the four-game series. The two squads will wrap up the series with a 1 p.m. (CDT) twinbill Friday (Apr. 17) at Al Ortolani Field.
Vogelbaugh was 0-for-3 with a walk in the nightcap before blasting UCO relief pitcher Konner Kyser's offering over the leftfield wall to end the game.
