BOLIVAR, Mo. — Andrew Kreiling collected four hits, including a double and a home run, to help spark the Pittsburg State University baseball team to a 19-7 victory over Southwest Baptist University Monday (Apr. 6) in the second game of a doubleheader. The Bearcats claimed a 7-4 win over the Gorillas in game one.
Kreiling drove in four runs in the contest, including a three-run home run as part of the Gorillas six-run seventh inning that helped halt the game by run-rule.
Pitt State (11-20, 7-13 MIAA) pounded out 19 hits in the contest. Derek Hackney also collected four hits, while Luke Bordewick went 3-for-6 with three RBI. Nate Arnold, Andrew Vogelbaugh and Christian Arnold each added two hits.
Blaine Fisher (3-3) allowed five runs in five innings of work, before turning the game over to relievers Aaron Snow and Dylan Donley.
In game one, SBU (14-18, 9-15 MIAA) overcame a 2-1 deficit with a four-run fourth inning and the Bearcats added a pair of insurance runs in the fifth inning as well.
Kreiling went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while Bordewick was 4-for-4 with two RBI
