PITTSBURG -- The Gorillas won the first set, 25-21, but lost the next three, 25-17, 25-16 and 25-23, to lose 3-1 to Lindenwood in John Lance Arena on Friday (October 28).
Pitt State hit .188 for the match to .270 for the visiting Lions. The Gorillas had only two more errors, but Lindenwood was able to put down 10 more kills. The Lions also outblocked the Gorillas 11.0 to 5.0.
Maggie Highberger led the Gorillas with 13 kills and 19 digs for her third straight double-double. She also had two block assists. Taylor Unke was just under double figures with nine kills on the night, as she led the Gorillas with a .471 attack percentage and four block assists. Ashlen Schwartz added 14 digs, and Taylor Wright, 10.
Lindenwood's Sarah Makowski led all players with 16 kills and hit .560 on the match.
Pitt State will take on Central Missouri at 3 p.m. on Saturday (October 29).
