SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The College of Saint Rose (N.Y.) men's basketball team broke open a three-point game at halftime and pulled away for a 67-44 victory over Pittsburg State University Friday (Nov. 25) at the Puerto Rico Challenge.
The Gorillas (1-6) shot just 20.8 percent from the field in the second half, making just five of 24 attempts. Pitt State shot 29.4 percent from the floor in the game overall (15-51). The Gorillas struggles carried over at the free throw line, where they converted just nine of 24 attempts.
Jordan Phelps led the Gorillas with nine points, while Josiah Gustafson finished with eight points.
Saint Rose got a game-high 14 points and eight rebounds from Julian Lipinski, while Tyler Sayre and Jamaal Greenwood added 10 point apiece
