PITTSBURG -- The Pittsburg State University baseball team will host the University of Minnesota Duluth in a four-game weekend series beginning Friday (Feb. 19) at Al Ortolani Field.
The Gorillas and Bulldogs will play a single game Friday at 3 p.m., followed by a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 20) and a final game Sunday (Feb. 21) at 1 p.m.
This will be the season-opening series for UMD, which posted a 35-16 overall record in 2015. Pitt State is off to a 2-2 start to the season, after splitting a four-game series against the University of Sioux Falls (S.D.) on Feb. 6-7.
Sophomore infielder Andrew Vogelbaugh hit .625 with seven runs scored, two home runs and five RBI in the Gorillas' season-opening series against the Cougars, earning MIAA Hitter of the Week honors.
