WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The University of Central Missouri baseball team limited Pittsburg State University to four hits as the Mules blanked the Gorillas, 8-0, Saturday (Mar. 5). at Crane Stadium.
UCM (5-6, 4-1 MIAA) and Pitt State (5-8, 0-5 MIAA) will complete the three-game series with 1 p.m. game Sunday.
The Mules jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning Saturday thanks to Dylan Phillips' grandslam. UCM added single runs in the fourth and sixth and two more runs in the seventh.
Sam Falcon had two of Pitt State's four hits in the contest. UCM starter Ethan Westphal allowed just two hits in seven innings of work.
