WARRENSBURG, Mo. — The University of Central Missouri baseball team completed a three-game sweep of Pittsburg State University with a 12-1 victory Sunday (Mar. 6) at Crane Stadium.
The Mules (6-6, 5-1 MIAA) jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead, thanks to five unearned runs in the second inning. UCM added another run in the third and four more in the fourth as the Mules broke the game open against Pitt State (5-9, 0-6 MIAA).
Carlos D'Armas (1-1) limited the Gorillas to one run and four hits in six strong innings of work.
Brett Macary collected two of Pitt State's four hits in the contest, picking up an RBI in the Gorillas third inning.
The Gorillas will return to action Mar. 11-13 with a three-game series in St. Joseph, Mo., against Missouri Western State University.
