TOPEKA, Kan. — The Washburn University volleyball team collected its third conference win of the season with a straight set victory over Pittsburg State University Friday (Oct. 6). The Ichabods defeated the Gorillas 25-18, 25-13, 25-19.
WU (12-6, 3-3 MIAA) got a match-high 10 kills from Erica Montgomery, while Allison Sadley added 26 assists. Faith Rottinghaus added 14 digs for the Ichabods' defense.
Pitt State (3-15, 0-6 MIAA) hit just .117 in the match. Noelle Dooley recorded six kills to lead the Gorillas offense, while Mia Bledsoe contributed five kills. Lauren Dunn complied 14 digs in the match.
Pitt State will travel to Emporia, Kan., Saturday (Oct. 7) to take on Emporia State University at 7 p.m. to wrap up the weekend action.
