PITTSBURG — The unbeaten and No. 1-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball team clinched the 2016-17 MIAA Regular Season Championship with a 90-64 victory Pittsburg State University Thursday (Feb. 16) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
The Bearcats (24-0, 16-0 MIAA) shot 60 percent from the field in the game and placed four players in double figures against the Gorillas (4-20, 2-14 MIAA). Chris-Ebou Ndow paced Northwest with 19 points, while D'Vante Mosby (16), Ryan Welty (15) and Justin Pitts (12) also scored in double figures. The Bearcats converted 34 of 56 shots from the floor in the contest, including 11 of 22 3-point field goals.
Miles Harrison sparked the Gorillas off the bench with a career-high 21 points on six of seven shooting. Isaiah Hicks and Christian Edmondson added 12 points apiece.
Pitt State will return to action Saturday (Feb. 18) when the Gorillas host Missouri Western State University at 3:30 p.m.
