CLAREMORE, Okla. -- The Rogers State University baseball team jumped out to a 3-0 lead then used a two-run eighth inning to help seal a 6-3 victory over Pittsburg State University Wednesday (Mar. 1) at the Diamond Sports Complex.
The Gorillas (6-9) outhit the Hillcats (9-5), 10-9, but Pitt State pitchers struggled by issuing eight walks in the contest.
Colton Pogue hit his team-leading sixth home run of the season and collected two hits in the game for the Gorillas. Dallas Reed also drove in a pair of runs.
Pitt State will return to action Friday (Mar. 3) when the Gorillas open a three-game MIAA series at 2 p.m. against the University of Central Missouri.
