Gorillas to Host Beavers in Non-Conference Tilt Wednesday


PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will wrap up an eight-game homestand Wednesday (Mar. 15) when the Gorillas host Bemidji State University in a non-conference game at Al Ortolani Field. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. (CDT).

The Gorillas are 8-14 on the season. Pitt State claimed a 10-7 victory over Missouri Western State University in its most recent action Sunday (Mar. 12). BSU is 2-6 on the season heading into a Tuesday (Mar. 14) road game against Rogers State University at Claremore, Okla.

Pitt State is hitting .309 on the season and scoring 8.0 runs per game. The Gorillas have a 7.51 team ERA.

Junior second baseman Dallas Reed leads the squad with a .440 batting average. He has scored a team-leading 30 runs and smacked three home runs with 25 RBIs. Junior shortstop Colton Pogue is batting .379 with nine doubles, seven home runs and 30 RBIs.
