Gorillas Return Home to Open Series Against Mules

PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will return home to the friendly confines of Al Ortolani Field to open a three-game MIAA series against the University of Central Missouri. The Gorillas and Mules will open the series Friday (Mar. 3) at 2 p.m. (CST), then meet one another at 1 p.m. Saturday before closing out the series with a 1 p.m. game Sunday.

Pitt State (6-9, 0-3 MIAA) will look to halt a four-game losing streak Friday. The Gorillas won six of seven games – all at home – before dropping a three-game series to Emporia State University last weekend and a 6-3 decision to Rogers State University Wednesday.

UCM (11-2, 3-0 MIAA) has won eight straight games. The Mules opened MIAA play by sweeping a three-game series against Fort Hays State University last weekend. UCM added a 9-4 victory over William Woods University Tuesday.
