PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will travel to Tahlequah, Okla., Tuesday (Mar. 28) to face MIAA rival Northeastern State University at 2 p.m. (CDT). The game was pushed up a day due to the forecast of Wednesday rain showers in the Tahlequah area.
The Gorillas are 12-18 overall and 6-10 in MIAA play. The RiverHawks are 13-11 overall and 7-6 in the MIAA. This will be the second meeting of the season between PSU and NSU. The RiverHawks claimed a 5-3 win over the Gorillas in Pittsburg on Mar. 21.
Pitt State is batting .309 as a team and scoring 7.5 runs per game. The Gorillas have a 6.43 team ERA.
Junior second baseman Dallas Reed leads the squad with a .426 batting average. He has scored a team-leading 39 runs, belted six home runs and registered a team-high 36 RBIs. Junior shortstop Colton Pogue is hitting .381 with 35 runs scored, seven home runs and 35 RBIs.
