PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will open a three-game MIAA series against Missouri Western State University Friday (Mar. 10) at Al Ortolani Field. The Gorillas and Griffons will play a doubleheader Friday beginning at 1 p.m.

The squads are scheduled to complete the series with a 1 p.m. game Saturday (Mar. 11) but that contest could be pushed back to Sunday if inclement weather arrives as forecasted for Saturday.

Pitt State is 7-12 overall and 1-5 in MIAA play on the season. The Gorillas dropped a 22-17 decision to Rogers State Wednesday in Pittsburg. Western is 9-7 overall but 6-0 in MIAA play. The Griffons have swept a pair of MIAA series against Washburn and Southwest Baptist.
