PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will host Northeastern State University in an MIAA game Tuesday (Apr. 4) at Noon. The contest originally was scheduled for 6 p.m. at Al Ortolani Field, but the game was pushed up six hours due to potential evening rain in the Pittsburg area.
The Gorillas (12-22, 6-20 MIAA) will seek to halt a four-game losing streak when the entertain the RiverHawks (17-11, 11-6 MIAA). NSU has won five straight games after sweeping a three-game conference series against Fort Hays State University over the weekend. Pitt State dropped three decisions to Northwest Missouri State University in weekend play.
Pitt State is batting .304 as a team on the season and averaging 7.2 runs per game. The Gorillas have a 6.69 team ERA. NSU is hitting .264 and scoring 7.1 runs per game. The RiverHawks pitching staff has a 4.91 team ERA.
