BOLIVAR, Mo. — The Pittsburg State University volleyball team rolled to its 6th conference win of the season with a straight set win over Southwest Baptist University Saturday (Oct. 20). The Gorillas defeated the Bearcats 25-14, 25-23, 26-24.
Pitt State (17-10, 6-8 MIAA) got a match-high 14 kills from Lauren Regier and Meg Auten. Brianna Richard added 38 assists for the Gorillas, who hit .239 in the match. Emily Regier recorded eight blocks on the match with Lauren Maisberger contributing 18 digs to pace the Gorillas defense.
SBU (4-23, 0-14 MIAA) hit just .067 in the match. Dana Neal led the Bearcat offense with 8 kills, while Emily Thompson and Greyson Roster both added 6 kills.
Pitt State will return to action Friday and Saturday (Oct. 26-27) when the Gorillas host the Fort Hays State University and University of Nebraska-Kearney at John Lance Arena.
