PITTSBURG – It was another close match as the Pittsburg State volleyball team fall to No. 6 University of Nebraska Kearney on Saturday (Oct. 27). The Lopers defeated the Gorillas 20-25, 25-16, 25-18, 15-25, 15-13.  

UNK (28-2, 14-2 MIAA) got a team-high 13 kills from Kendall Schroer, while Mackenzie Puckett added 9 kills. Lindsey Smith collected 37 assists for the Lopers, while Ellie McDonnell recorded 22 digs in the match.
 
Pitt State (18-11, 7-9 MIAA) got a match-high 19 kills from Lauren Regier, followed by Morgan Henning and Meg Auten with 9 kills apiece. Brianna Richard recorded a career-high 47 assists to help pace the Gorillas offense. Lauren Maisberger contributed a career-high 25 digs on the match to lead the Gorilla defense, while Emily Regier recorded a career-high 11 blocks on the match.
 
While home games are done for the Gorillas, they do still have two games left on the schedule. The Gorillas with finish the season with a pair of road matches at Emporia State and Washburn (Nov. 2-3).
