ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — The Missouri Western State University volleyball team collected its fourth MIAA victory of the season with a straight set win over Pittsburg State University Friday (Oct. 5). The Griffons defeated the Gorillas 25-12, 25-20, 25-21.
MWSU (11-9, 4-4 MIAA) had a match-high 10 kills from Stephanie Doak followed by Rachel Losch with 9. The Griffons defense was led by Ali Tauchen with 13 digs in the match.
Pitt State (15-6, 4-4 MIAA) hit just .093 in the match. Lauren Regier and Morgan Henning led the team with eight kills apiece. Lauren Maisberger paced the Gorillas defense with 12 digs, while Camryn Blanton collected 18 assists for the offense.
Pitt State will return to action Saturday (Oct. 6) when the Gorillas travel to Northwest Missouri State University. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
