LAS VEGAS, Nev. — No. 13 ranked West Texas A&M University outscored Pittsburg State University, 51-33, in the second half as the Buffalos claimed a 93-80 victory over the Gorillas Tuesday (Dec. 18) in the Las Vegas Hoopla.
Brandon Hall led four WTAMU players in double figures with 23 points. Hall made eight of 13 shots and dished out a game-high nine assists in the contest. Ryan Quaid (17), Qua Grant (15) and Joel Murray (15) also scored in double figures for the Buffs (11-2).
Grant Lozoya led all scorers with 30 points to pace Pitt State (8-2), which saw its eight-game winning streak snapped in the contest. Lozoya added a team-leading nine rebounds and three assists. Donovan Franklin added 21 points, while Trenton Clayton finished the game with 12 points and seven rebounds. A.J. Walker also added 11 points.
The Gorillas led the Buffs, 47-42, at halftime, but Pitt State shot just 37 percent from the field in the second half, making 13 of 35 shots.
