ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Donovan Franklin scored a game-high 31 points to lead the Pittsburg State University men's basketball team to a 93-80 road win over Missouri Western State University Saturday (Feb. 17).
Franklin, Demetrius Levarity and Xavier Adams combined for 74 points in the contest to pace a Pitt State offense that shot 61.1 percent from the field in the game (33-54). Levarity finished with 22 points on eight of 10 shooting, including five of six from 3-point range. Adams added 21 points for the Gorillas (15-11, 8-9 MIAA).
Adams and Franklin both made nine of 14 shots from the floor. Franklin knocked down five 3-pointers and made eight of nine attempts from the foul line for his season-high scoring output.
Western (5-19, 3-14 MIAA) got a team-best 27 points from Lavon Hightower. T.J. Evans added 13 points, while Alex Martin (11) and Bryan Hudson (10) also reached double figures.
