Gorillas Hold off Thunderwolves, 6-3, in Series Finale

Box Score PUEBLO, COLO. — The Pittsburg State University baseball team scored late and held on for a 6-3 victory over Colorado State Pueblo Friday (Feb. 9).

The Gorillas (3-3) scored five runs in the last three innings and one run early in the second against the Thunderwolves (2-3).

Ethan Vanderpool worked 1 2/3 innings of relief to earn the victory, after starter Brendan Stanek limited CSU-P to three runs in 6 innings of work. Cody White recorded the final four outs to earn his third save of the season.

Hunter Clanin led the Pitt State offense, going 2-for-4 with two hits and two RBIs. Cody White went 3-for-4 and drove in one run while Andrew Vogelbaugh also had a hit and one RBI.

The Gorillas outhit the Thunderwolves, 13-11, but Gorillas struggled in the field committing four errors.
