Gorillas to Open MIAA Series Against Lopers Friday


PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will travel to Kearney, Neb., to begin a three-game MIAA series against the University of Nebraska-Kearney Friday through Sunday (Apr. 27-29). The Gorillas and Lopers will play at 3 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday and Noon Sunday.

Pitt State enters the series 28-14 overall and 20-10 in MIAA play. The Gorillas are coming off a 7-4 home win over Missouri Southern State University in their last action Tuesday. Pitt State is fourth in the MIAA standings, but just one game behind conference co-leaders University of Central Missouri and Northwest Missouri State University. The Mules and Bearcats both are 21-9 in MIAA play.

UNK is 25-19 overall and 18-12 in MIAA play. The Lopers are fifth in the conference standings. The series will mark the final home games for the Lopers.
