PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University volleyball team collected a pair of victories on Friday (Aug. 31) to open the weekend at home in the Pitt State Classic.

The Gorillas debuted with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-22) win over Chadron State and followed with a 3-1 victory (26-24, 25-22, 25-27, 25-19) against Cameron.
Lauren Regier led the offense with 13 kills, followed by Taylor Unke with 10 kills against Chadron State.
In the second match of the day, Pitt State's strong offense late in the match pushed the Gorillas past the Aggies to win in four sets.

Meg Auten led the Gorillas with 16 kills against CU, while Lauren Regier and Morgan Henning added 12 kills apiece. Camryn Blanton recorded a career-high 54 assists on the match, while Lauren Dunn added 19 digs to help pace the Gorilla defense.
The Gorillas will be back in action Saturday (Sept. 1) at 1 p.m. against Christian Brothers University, followed by a fourth and final match at 5 p.m. against Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
