PITTSBURG -- The Pittsburg State University volleyball team split a pair of matches on day two of the Pitt State Gorilla Classic Saturday (Sept. 1).
Pitt State (7-1) opened the day with a sweep over Christian Brothers University, taking the match 25-16, 25-20, 25-13. Northwestern Oklahoma State University handed Pitt State a three-set loss in the second match of the day, 25-23, 25-18, 26-24.
Against CBU, Lauren Regier paced the Gorillas with 8 kills, while Morgan Henning added 7 kills. Camryn Blanton collected 26 assists in the match, while Lauren Dunn added 9 digs.
In the last match of the day, Regier totaled a team-leading 12 kills for the Gorillas.
Pitt State will return to action in Kansas City, Mo. on Tuesday (Sept. 4) to take on Rockhurst University at 7 p.m.
