KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Rockhurst University volleyball team collected its 8th victory of the season with a straight set win over Pittsburg State University Tuesday (Sept. 4). The Hawks defeated the Gorillas 25-19, 25-18, 25-17.

RU (8-1) got a match-high 13 kills from Alyssa Woodman, while Emily Matio added 11 kills. Dani Prusha added 40 assists for the Hawks, who hit .376 in the match.

Pitt State (7-2) hit just .141 in the match. Morgan Henning and Lauren Regier both recorded seven kills for the Gorillas, while Camryn Blanton collected 23 assists.

Pitt State will return to action Friday and Saturday (Sept. 7-8) when the Gorillas travel to Edmond, Okla. to compete in the GAC/MIAA Crossover.
