EDMOND, Okla. -- The Pittsburg State University men's basketball team outscored the University of Central Oklahoma, 20-7, in the game's final 7:14 to break open a three-point game and pull away for a 90-74 road win Thursday (Jan. 17) at Hamilton Field House.
Donovan Franklin scored a career-high 32 points to lead the Gorillas (13-3, 6-1 MIAA), who set a school single game record by making 16 3-point field goals in the contest. Franklin made 10 of 21 shots in the contest, including seven of 13 from 3-point range.
Grant Lozoya added 24 points and 10 rebounds in posting his third double-double of the season. He also dished out a game-high six assists.
Adarius Avery posted a double-doble with 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead UCO (8-8, 1-6 MIAA). Ashton Golden also scored 19 points for the Bronchos.
Pitt State will return to action Saturday (Jan 19) at 2:30 p.m. against Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, Okla.
