TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Pittsburg State University men's basketball team shot just 38.6 percent from the field and Northeastern State University took advantage in an 83-64 victory over the Gorillas Saturday (Jan. 19).
The RiverHawks (9-8, 3-5 MIAA) led by as many as 30 points midway through the second half and the Gorillas (13-4, 6-2 MIAA) never led in the contest.
Donovan Franklin scored a team-leading 20 points to pace Pitt State on eight of 11 shooting. Grant Lozoya also scored in double figures with 10 points for the Gorillas.
NSU got a game-high 24 points and eight rebounds from Caleb Smith as well as 22 points from Trent Cantrell. Smith and Cantrell combined to make 10 3-point field goals in the contest.
