PITTSBURG -- Donovan Franklin scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Pittsburg State University men's basketball team to a 90-66 victory over Emporia State University Wednesday (Jan. 23) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
The Gorillas (14-4, 7-2 MIAA) built a 40-23 halftime cushion and never looked back against the Hornets (7-10, 2-6 MIAA).
Pitt State shot 48.4 percent from the field (31-64) in the contest, while limited ESU to 30.8 percent shooting (20-65). The Gorillas converted 14 3-pointers in the contest.
Grant Lozoya added 17 points, while Ray Elliott finished with a season-high 13 points. Demetrius Levarity just missed a double-double with nine points and a game-high nine rebounds.
ESU got 11 points from Justin Washington and 10 more from Malik Hluchoweckyj.
