PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team has added a road game against Newman University to its schedule. The Gorillas will meet the Jets Thursday (Feb. 14) at McCarthy Field at Wichita, Kan. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. (CST).
The Gorillas will take a 4-2 record into Thursday's action. Pitt State has won four straight contests, including a three-game series sweep of Colorado State University-Pueblo over the weekend. The Gorillas are scoring 6.5 runs per game and batting .242 on the young season. Pitt State pitchers sport a 4.02 ERA with 57 strikeouts in 53.7 innings of work.
Newman (2-2) has won its last two games after an 0-2 start to the 2019 campaign.
