ADA, Okla. — The East Central University softball team swept a doubleheader from Pittsburg State University Sunday (Feb. 17) at Tiger Field. The Tigers defeated the Gorillas, 7-3 and 8-7.
Pitt State dropped to 4-6 overall, while East Central improved to 4-5 overall.
Kala Holder led the Gorillas in game one, going 2-for-3 with one run scored. Keelah Griffith also hit a two-run home run for the Gorillas.
In the nightcap, the Tigers pushed past the Gorillas in the eighth inning on a walk-off double from Catherine Barrera. The Gorillas had seven hits on the game compared to 13 hits from the Tigers.
Pitt State will be back in action on Saturday (Feb. 23) for a doubleheader against Drury University in Springfield, Mo. The first-pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.
