PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will host Baker University in a non-conference game Wednesday (Mar. 20) at Al Ortolani Field. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. (CDT).
The Gorillas are 12-10 on the season. Pitt State took two of three games from Northwest Missouri State University in an MIAA series last weekend at Al Ortolani Field.
Baker is 10-11 overall, but the Wildcats have won three straight games.
The Gorillas enter Wednesday's action batting .244 as a team and scoring 6.1 runs per game. Pitt State pitchers have a 4.21 team ERA with 187 strikeouts in 194.7 innings of work.
Junior outfielder Chaz Burgess leads the squad with a .421 batting average. He's scored 12 runs, hit five doubles and four home runs and driven in 17 runs. Junior firstbaseman Ty Herrenbruck also is batting .272 with 17 runs scored, six doubles, six home runs and 20 RBIs.
