TOPEKA, Kan.  — The Washburn University softball team swept an MIAA doubleheader from Pittsburg State University Monday (Apr. 1). The Ichabods defeated the Gorillas, 3-0 and 8-3.
Pitt State dropped to 16-19 overall and 4-6 in MIAA play, while Washburn improved to 17-17 overall and 8-2 in conference action.
In game one, the Ichabods limited Pitt State to three hits. Kala Holder led the Gorillas going 1-for-2 with a double in the second inning.
Madison Szymanski led the Gorillas in game two, going 2-for-4 with one run scored, while Keelah Griffith went 1-for-4 with two RBI's. Â
