CONROE, Texas -- The Pittsburg State University softball team split a pair of games on the opening day of the 2020 season Friday (Jan. 31) at the Arkansas Tech University Winter Invitational. The Gorillas dropped a 4-2 decision to Texas A&M University-Kingsville before bouncing back with a 13-9 victory over Texas Woman's University.
Pitt State (1-1) compiled 17 hits in the game two victory over TWU. Kylee Bohle went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Kaity Kukowski homered and scored three runs in the contest. Mareika Turpen also had three hits, including a double, while driving in four runs.
The Gorillas will return to action with two more games in the three-day tournament Saturday against Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas A&M International.
